Geowissenschaften und Rohstoffe (BGR) h\u00e4lt im Auftrag des Bundesministeriums f\u00fcr Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) eine Lizenz der Internationalen Meeresbodenbeh\u00f6rde zur Exploration polymetallischer Sulphide im indischen Ozean. Mit Unterzeichnung des Lizenzvertrages im Mai 2015 ist die BGR verpflichtet, detaillierte ressourcenorientierte Erkundungsarbeiten in dem Lizenzgebiet s\u00fcd\u00f6stlich von Mauritius durchzuf\u00fchren.<\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\">Die biologische Auswertung ist dabei ein zentraler Bestandteil des INDEX-Projektes der BGR zur Exploration von Massivsulfidvorkommen f\u00fcr die Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Dabei soll die Artenvielfalt, die H\u00e4ufigkeiten und die Verteilung von allen benthischen Organismen ermittelt werden. Mit Hilfe der Artzusammensetzung, der Verteilungsmuster und deren Verbindung zu Umweltvariablen werden abiotische Faktoren, die f\u00fcr die Erhaltung der Biodiversit\u00e4t in abyssalen Hydrothermalfeldern relevant sind erfasst. Gezielte Probennahmen, sowie Video- und Fotostrecken werde gesammelt und sollen Aufschluss \u00fcber die Verteilung der Artengemeinschaften und deren Zusammensetzung von aktiven- und inaktiven Hydrothermalfeldern, sowie von dem angrenzenden abyssalen Ebenen liefern.<\/span><\/p><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-68edf1a2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"68edf1a2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Anhand dieser Daten werden die Gemeinschaften unterschieden, der Austausch von Populationen beobachtet und Biotopkarten f\u00fcr die Region erarbeitet. Der Vergleich der Artengemeinschaften von verschiedenen Stationen soll ein besseres Verst\u00e4ndnis der \u00f6kologischen und biogeografischen Faktoren liefern, die die Biodiversit\u00e4t in gro\u00dfen Ma\u00dfst\u00e4ben regulieren. Seit 2019 ist diese Aufgabe mit der Ausgr\u00fcndung auf INES \u00fcbertragen worden, die neben den von der BGR initiierten Expeditionen auch Fahrten in Kooperation mit dem Deutschen Zentrum f\u00fcr marine Biodiversit\u00e4tsforschung zu den \u00f6kologischen Auswirkungen eines potenziellen Tiefseebergbaus und den damit verbundenen St\u00f6rungen der Fauna durchf\u00fchrt (JPIO, (www.jpi-oceans.eu); Discol, (www.discol.de)).<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jipi-oceans.eu\">www.jpi-oceans.eu<\/a>); Discol, (<\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.discol.de)\/\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">www.discol.de<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-US\">).<\/span><\/p><\/div><div><p><span lang=\"EN-US\">Die bisher ausgewerteten Proben zeigen eine hohe Abundanz und Diversit\u00e4t. Die Bestandsaufnahme der Artenvielfalt und Besiedlungsdichte der Bodenorganismen liefert einen Beitrag zur gro\u00dfr\u00e4umigen Erfassung der Lebensgemeinschaften im Manganknolleng\u00fcrtel der Clarion-Clipperton Fracture Zone. Auf Grundlage solcher Daten, die von verschiedenen internationalen Forschergruppen erhoben wurden, hat die International Meeresbodenbeh\u00f6rde in 2012 neun Schutzgebiete von 400 x 400 Kilometern Gr\u00f6\u00dfe ausgewiesen, die insgesamt rund 30 Prozent der Fl\u00e4che des Manganknolleng\u00fcrtels umfassen. Diese Gebiete sollen den Erhalt der einzigartigen \u00d6kosysteme in der Tiefsee des Manganknolleng\u00fcrtels sicherstellen und eine Wiederbesiedlung abgeernteter Fl\u00e4chen nach einem eventuellen zuk\u00fcnftigen Abbau erm\u00f6glichen. Au\u00dferdem ist INES zusammen der BGR in dem europ\u00e4ischen Gro\u00dfprojekt JPI Oceans Mining Impact t\u00e4tig, die die Auswirkungen eines zuk\u00fcnftigen Tiefseebergbaus detailliert untersuchen. In diesem Rahmen soll insbesondere die Ausbreitung von Suspensionswolken, die beim Einsatz von Ger\u00e4ten zum Abbau der Manganknollen entstehen k\u00f6nnte, untersucht werden. Datenanalysen zeigen, dass die Str\u00f6mungsgeschwindigkeiten in 4000 Metern Wassertiefe mit 1 bis 5 Zentimetern pro Sekunde meist sehr gering sind und die Richtung der Str\u00f6mung variabel ist.
